Ep. 036 – “Let’s talk Scholastic Bowl” with Emily Ethington

On this segment of “The Fantastic Scholastic Show,” Emily Ethington interviews Senior Mario Medina a member of the Boylan Scholastic Bowl Team and Faculty Advisor Mrs. Lindsay Mertes.  The discussion targets around the high school Scholastic Bowl competitions and the Bergstrom’s Stateline Quiz Bowl.  Boylan will compete on the Stateline Quiz Bowl on Saturday, January 12th.  Check the local listings for the time and channel (WTVO – 17).  You can watch a replay on Sunday, January 13th at 8:30 AM (My Network TV) and 9:30 PM (FOX 39).

Varsity team members are Senior Mario Medina, Senior Jeffrey Welch, Senior Andy Brown, Senior Megan Schroeder, and Junior John Link.

Ep. 034 – “Coach Paul Perrone & a preview of the Reindeer Games Girls’ Basketball Tournament” with Megan Schroeder and Will Archer

In this segment of “And OneBoylan Catholic girls’ basketball coach Paul Perrone joins Megan Schroeder and William Archer to discuss the upcoming girls’ Christmas basketball tournament, “The Reindeer Games.” The discussion will focus on the origin of the Reindeer Games,  the format of the competition, the special treatment that our visitors will receive, the three-point & Free throw contests, and the teams!

Teams entered in the competition are Freeport Aquin, Winnebago, McHenry, Beloit Memorial, Belvidere North, Woodstock Marian Central, Grayslake North, and Boylan Catholic.  WROK and TitanVision will produce LIVE broadcasts of the tournament!  All games played in the Main Gym will be LIVE streamed on TitanVision.  WROK’s schedule is still to be determined.

Ep. 033 – “A Preview of the Pekin Holiday Tournament” with EJ Greenberg and Joey Foley

In this segment of “In the PaintEJ Greenberg and Joey Foley will discuss all things Pekin Holiday Tournament.  The boys’ basketball team will play on 26th, 27th, and 28th.  Todays’ segment will cover the participating teams and comments from Coach Brett McAllister on the tournament.  We will also discuss matchups with Harlem and Hononegah.  Listed below is the Tournament website, tournament schedule, and the NFHS Network Broadcast schedule.  Thank you for listening to “In the Paint!”  We will be back after the holidays with a recap of the Pekin Tournament.
